Pakky SEALS –Social Emotional and Academic Learning Skills Development Program
Our Pakky SEALS Transition Program is no cost for any student who will be attending Prep at Pakenham Hills the following year. It will begin in Week 1 of Term 3 through to Week 10 Term 4.
Our Program allows children to develop and practise some of the pre-learning skills necessary for success at school. Oral language, fine motor skills, pre-literacy and pre-numeracy readiness are a focus of the program.
Children will participate in directed activities which will extend their learning skills. These skills, along with strategies and behaviours will have them well prepared to begin formal schooling at the beginning of their Prep year.
Recent studies suggest that children’s adjustment to their first year of school is strongly influenced with the school setting . We aim to have your child feeling safe and secure in the school environment to ensure they have a positive start at school.
We aim to engage our students by planning meaningful and enriching learning experiences so students can experience success. We have used our school values to determine three expected behaviours. These behaviours underpin everything that we do at Pakenham Hills Primary School .
Pakky SEALS Transition Program will run every Tuesday during Term 3 and Term 4, 2019.
